Children's Ministries

Brookside Christian Reformed Church is committed to helping every member grow in spiritual maturity.

This commitment extends to our children, from the youngest on up. We offer age-specific opportunities each Sunday morning, throughout the week, and at special times throughout the year.

Our Infant and Toddler Nurseries provide an atmosphere of love and care, showing Christ’s love in a safe environment in order to help infants and toddlers (and parents, too!) feel happy and secure. Our nurseries are open during the 10:00am worship services and are located at the end of the center hallway.

Little Lambs is just for 2 & 3 year-olds . This ministry introduces children to God, His love, His Son, and His stories through structured playtime and story telling. Little Lambs is available every Sunday at 10:00am. Please contact our Children's Ministry Coordinator for more information.

Children in Pre-K through 2nd grade are invited to join us each Sunday morning for an age-friendly worship time in our grade-specific worship centers. Children will experience the wonder of God's love through a visual presentation of a Bible story followed by an expressive response time. Children in Worship is offered each Sunday morning at 10:00am. Children will begin the morning with their parents in the main worship service and, after 20 minutes, will be dismissed by the pastor to their leaders, who will be waiting at the end of the aisle.

Our Kingdom Kids ministry combines large group teaching, singing, and drama with small group lessons and prayer to help students see God's one story of redemption through all of the individual Bible stories presented. 3rd through 5th grade students are invited to the lower level Kingdom Kids Room at 10:00am each Sunday morning during the school year.

Students in grades 6 through 8 are invited to attend a class where they can discuss topical issues and faith questions through the lens of Scripture and our church's historical faith documents. Some of the topics include: Christians & Culture, Learning to Pray, Making Tough Choices, and Building Relationships. These classes are offered at 10:00am each Sunday morning during the school year.

Brookside's Cadets program is for boys in grades 2 through 8. Boys grow in their faith through Bible lessons and develop new skills as they complete various projects throughout the year. The boys also have the opportunity to use their newly-acquired outdoor survival skills through spring and fall camping trips. Brookside Cadets generally meet from 6:30pm - 8:30pm on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month during the school year.

Our GEMS program is designed to help girls in 2nd through 8th grade better understand God's love for them and then learn to enthusiastically reflect that love back to God and share it with others. Our GEMS are equipped, motivated, and passionately engaged in living out their faith. During the school year, our GEMS generally meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Their time together includes a Bible lesson, a craft time, singing, and a variety of special events. New girls are always welcome!
